An elementary
definition of 'gravure' would be a photograph reproduced in continuous
tones, in printers ink. They can be 'hand-pulled' or rotary printed.
Halftones are a dot process, with all the dots the same size. So,
tones are described by the density of their distribution. Cyanotypes
are contact printed by a blueprint process.
