Nine portrait graphics of Chairman Mao, likely silk screens, with an associated envelop having a calligraphic tribute by Lin Piao, dated 1967. Each image is in an 11 x 14 inch mat. The text wishes long life to the great helmsman. The ink lies heavily on the surface of the paper. The condition is very good.

The Cultural Revolution was started by Mao in 1966 as an effort to consolidate his power and diminish his rivals. Lin Piao subsequently proved to be one, attempting a coup and dying in a plane crash during his escape.
